Madrid Luxury Art: Urban art in Ortega y Gasset
In 2021, Madrid Luxury District promoted the first edition of Madrid Luxury Art, an urban art circuit that in the first year brought sculptures by the Venezuelan artist Alejandro Vega Beuvrin to Madrid to place them in Ortega y Gasset, from Velázquez to Serrano.
The works, more than three meters high, were made of polished stainless steel, achieving a mirror effect in which the passer-by could see his reflection. They were works of great dynamism and flashes of light that interacted with the urban space and with the viewer through interconnected planes.
Alejandro Vega conceived this circuit as a metaphor for the relationship between his country of origin and Spain. And he stressed the importance of generating city exhibitions to reach art lovers in the most spontaneous and accessible way.
This circuit, which remained in Ortega y Gasset for more than three months, was completed with small exhibitions inside the associated brands that hosted sculptures and art meetings in which Alejandro Vega Beuvrin participated, with wide repercussions in the main national media. The association showed its commitment to culture and art that it has maintained since its inception and that continues today with urban, collective or monographic exhibitions to show the best Latin American art.
